High Soundsystem

High Soundsystem’s real name is Rutger Heij he grew up in a small town called Dordrecht close to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Influenced by Hiphop, Trance and South-American music he began his musical journey on the “Playstation” with a game called “Music 2000” the music he made sounded African with the bongos and congas he created rhythm. Later on, he found love for “House’ music because of his uncle DJ DARIK who had showed him the example, on parties like Soulfull Flavours in Dolhuis Dordrecht. Unfortunately his uncle died at a very young age which left Rutger and the rest of his family with a whole they couldn’t fill. He decided to reach in his uncle’s footsteps and started practicing the art of DJing and so his cousin Dennis helped him take his first baby steps. It didn’t take long before he started playing in clubs with friends JMP, Renco and Slick. In the meantime his produce skills upped a level 5 to, he liked making music, so he never stopped looking for diTerent ways to make music, switched programs occasionally until he found the right fit “Steinberg Cubase” but his Windows computer crashed and so he lost all his Cubase projects. He decided it was time to make the switch from Windows to Apple and so also the switched from Cubase to Logic Pro around that time he also won the DJ contest from Dutch legend “Michel de Hey” called “Kweekvijver” which resulted in bookings on Bootstock Festival & in Rotterdam club TOFFLER. From there on out thing’s started to go upwards he started organizing events in Dordrecht’s very own Dolhuis and Bibelot under the name Obvious Collective and Jumanji. Two years later he figured it was time for the next step and so he moved to Rotterdam. He started organizing parties in TOFFLER, Now&Wow BAR and BIRD. In 2016 his first big international release “Pula” landed on “Kolour Records” based in New York City, United States. About an half year later Rotterdam DJ “Karim Soliman” approached him to and asked him to join the “Give Soul” collective which led to performance on stage with artists like: The Martinez Brothers, Michael Bibi, Hot Since 82, Patrick Topping, Celina Manuhutu, Benny Rodrigues, Michel de Hey & many more. Nowadays High Soundsystem works with Ableton and Logic Pro X, he’s got more than 50 releases on labels like Deeperfect, Obvious Records, Moan, Tamango, TBX, Whoyostro and got support from artists like: DJ SNEAK, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, PAWSA, Franky Rizardo, Stefano Noferini, YAYA to name a few also got his own label called Obvious Records and has played on parties like (a-z): A Day at the Park, ADE, Elrow, Give Soul, Sonar Festival, Verknipt Festival, Strafwerk Festival, ToTler Festival and venues like (a-z): Bronze Beach, Club Up, Colorado Charlie, Escape, Lovelee, Maassilo, Munch, Now&Wow, Paradiso, Perron, Radion, ToTler & many more his sets are energetic and house influenced.
